OUR STORY · YOUR NEXT CHAPTER
For the women who never got the chance.
For the women finding their way back.
For the women ready to give it a go.
MEET GEMMA · FOUNDER & COACH
Gemma loved football from a young age, playing whenever the boys let her join in. Living in North America in her thirties gave her the chance to join a five-a-side team and experience more accessible opportunities for women to play.
Back in England, she worked in charity fundraising and took up football coaching. After the Lionesses’ inspiring summer success, she decided to try something she had been thinking about: football-based fitness for women who might never have had the chance to play.
That idea became Footy Fit. A place to learn, get moving and enjoy being part of a team.

Gemma has been passionate about football since she was very young and played whenever the boys let her join in! She lived in North America during her 30’s and took advantage of the more accessible opportunities already there for women and girls in football, playing on a 5 a side football team. Since returning to England, she worked in the charity sector as an events fundraiser and took up football coaching in her spare time. Gemma has been head coach of a girl’s grassroots local football team for the last 6 years. After the amazing Summer our Lionesses gave us bringing it home, she decided it was the perfect time to trial her idea of football based fitness sessions for women that may have never had the opportunity to play.
